Sure na Sure, Ilocos Sur: Kannawidan Festival
Ilocos Sur a province located in the northern part of the Philippines. It comprises of 32 municipalities and 2 cities. Ilocos Sur became a province since in 1818. The reason why we have the festival so called “Kannawidan” is that we commemorate the separation of two Ilocos provinces. The season where we start the festival is very joyful and full of excitement. Kannawidan Festival is an annual festival, which is placed to start every end of January. A festival were its celebrated with joy, and a festival full of colors and wonders. During this festival, it usually celebrated in 2 weeks. Before the pandemic we usually have a food fair, and trade fair where different provinces comes to the kannawidan grounds and try to sell there very own delicacies or products.
