Dear President Duterte,

The reason behind this letter is to express my gratitude and some concerns in leading our country. I wish you can be open-minded with this letter, I hope you would make time to understand my concerns. As a Filipino, this letter is to show the actions you did during your term as a president of our country.

First, I would like to thank you all the good things you have made during your term as our president, such as the employment increase in our country, and to help our Filipino farmers, and many more. Second is my concern about the extrajudicial killings, drug war, police brutality, and many more. I want to point out that violence is not an effective way to cut out crimes. I understand the effects of illegal drugs but my point is killing a person is very bad and a lot of people can be effected with your war on drugs. That comes with police brutality, polices are supposed to maintain peace but they are abusing their power. I also want to add that some police are using their power to get away of hideous crimes. A lot of people can be falsely accused because war on drugs, and also police brutality, a lot of people cannot afford a good lawyer to get them free. My third concerns are the illegal/corrupt activities that are happening in the government, aren’t they are the ones taking the money of our citizens? My last concern is the fight against COVID-19, why is the cases in covid-19 getting higher and not lower? Where are the promised “ayudas” for the poor during this crisis? Where are the extra money for our frontliners who are working day and night just to make sure no one is dying because of this virus? So this is why I wrote this letter is to find a way to lower the cases and finally end this pandemic ruining the lives of our citizens.

I am happy for all the good contributions you did for our country, but please don’t neglect our human rights and the problems we are facing right know. We want to live in a brighter and safer Philippines.

Your citizen,

Franz Rio F. Deocares

  3. We have the same thoughts! Duterte is a good president but he could've done better leading our country. Especially that we are in the middle of a pandemic yet he still prioritizes things that are not that important. But overall, I love everything you said.
