Establishing Quality Education during the Pandemic

This pandemic has affected many lives, and the education that the children must have is one of them. The pandemic has affected our education very deeply, because of the virus schools must shut down in order, to not spread the virus and to keep the children safe because they are prone to the virus. But our Department of Education came up with a solution to continue the education even when we can’t enter the school or to have face-to-face classes, and it is called distance learning.

This educational set-up called distance learning are made for us to continue our studies even when we are in our homes. What is distance learning? For me distance learning comes with two types, first type is modular learning and the second type is online learning. There is a third type, which involves the two types of learning, and it is called blended learning, which is the mix of modular learning and online learning. This is the best option for us to not get the virus and to continue our studies. Distance learning can be very efficient now because modules or learning kits can be sent via internet and the teachers can discuss the lessons via google meet or zoom. This set-up maybe very stressful but it is very helpful now that almost all of us are on our phones. My experiences during distance learning are it is very stressful than face-to-face classes, It is very tiring because you are in front of your computer or laptop or even your phones, and sometimes it is hard to comprehend the lessons by just reading the module. Truly, this type of learning can be an effective way but what really matters for me is the education of the less fortunate one. We all know that the ones who are greatly affected during the pandemic is the ones who are less fortunate. I am worried for the ones who needs to stop their education just to keep going in life. I want to raise this issue because many students doesn’t have the right tool for this pandemic. Like gadgets, internet, and peaceful place to study. A lot of us are still trying to adjust with this kind of set-up but hopefully we can bring back the normal set-up of education.

Honestly, distance learning isn’t bad, as long as you understand the lesson and to have gained more knowledge even when we are in pandemic. However, we must still need to pay attention to those who are less fortunate, because distance learning isn’t fit for everyone. Still distance learning is effective for us to learn more and to continue our studies. Until we can achieve a COVID-free world, we can go back to the usual type of learning which the face-to-face learning that is more fun and more efficient for us students.

  1. Online learning indeed isn't fit for everyone. Some students doesn't have the same privilege like most of the students. I hope that everyone is fine during this time and hoping that this will end soon.
