The Modern Me

We start our year with a bang. Fireworks are blasting in our skies, people are cheering “Happy New Year” some are jumping, and some are praying to give us a beautiful year. As January 1 passes by we can see a lot of post in social media with the captions “New Year, New Me”, “Changing this New Year”, and “Entering the year, with a new me”. We Filipinos are known for having the grandest celebrations when it comes to New Year, Christmas, and even Fiesta’s. 2021 is truly a blast for all of us, and opening a new chapter of our lives is a cheerful part for all of us.

A new chapter to our lives must be a joyful feeling but it has the feeling of being anxious on what this year has stored for us. We are all hopeful to have a blessed and happy 2022. No more COVID-19 cases, no more deaths because of this virus, and us being able to free ourselves form lockdowns and quarantines caused by this virus. We also want to give ourselves a fresh start to this year. We are all saying we must erase all of our toxic traits for us to be new this New Year. Having this kind of mindset can really boost our confidence in changing for the better. Thinking that we should have a fresh start to ourselves and deleting toxic traits or bad traits from ourselves can show us that we are glowing-up, and we are changing year by year.

The concept of “New Year, New Me” can really be exciting. I changing from the old me is very satisfying. Erasing bad traits from ourselves can really improve our personality. 2022 can be our year if we think positive. This year can also be life changing in our part as a country as we finally seal of this virus. All I can say is that let us treasure every moment this year, all this experienced can just be a memory to all of us.
