Semana Santa; Lent Season
Lenten season is a traditional season wherein Catholics practiced during this time. It is a season where we honor the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Lent is done by fasting, and it usually begins on Ash Wednesday and it ends on Easter Sunday. Lenten season is where we repent for our sins, reflect on our doings, and give thanks to our Lord. During this season, we offer ourselves to God and pray for everything he has done for us. Before the pandemic it is a feast where all of us are together to celebrate this kind of season.
Before the pandemic, Lenten season
is full of activities. Lent Seasons starts at Ash Wednesday, and we end it on
the Easter Sunday. At the final week of this season, we celebrate Palm Sunday,
Holy Monday, Holy Tuesday, Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Black
Saturday, and finally Easter Sunday. Pre-pandemic activities includes the
parade of saints, Visita Iglesia, Siete Palabras fasting, and many more. Now that we are on a
pandemic, the traditional way of celebrating this season is very different. We
have to do the non-traditional way of celebrating this season such as no
physical contact, no more parade of saint, and especially no more Visita
Iglesia’s. As the pandemic continues, these types of activities are banned for
now. As Lenten season begun, we encourage all people to pray and give thanks to
the sacrifices that where given to us.
As
the season begins, we should always remember no matter where you are, Lord God
is with us all the time. We cannot commemorate the Lenten season the traditional
way but as long as put, our hearts in honoring this season God will forever
love us. Honoring this season, as a Christian is not hard, just spread peace,
love, and give thanks to everyone. Giving importance to Lenten season shows
that our actions as Christians are not dying. Always remember that God is
always with us no matter what happen.
