Immunity over the COVID-19 Virus
The
challenges brought by the pandemic is inevitable, especially to the young ones.
COVID-19 is a threat mostly to children, teens, and senior citizens. Children
and teens have to face the protocols given by our government, such as being in
their homes until the virus is contained, no physical interactions. With that
said, children and teens cannot go to schools, cannot play with their friends,
and many more. However, as our government continues to vaccinate its fellow
citizens, scientist and researchers are now happy to announce that COVID-19
vaccines are already approved to be at used for children and teens. We all have
common questions such as, are the vaccines effective? Are we sure that the
vaccines can protect us from the virus?
As the pandemic continues, we find
ourselves not at ease because we cannot see who is infected or not. As the
lockdown continues, scientists have now discovered a vaccine to prevent the
deadly symptoms of the virus itself. As it undergo clinical trial, it has
proven its worth over the time. The first parts of the vaccination programs,
only 18 years old above and 59 years old below are only allowed to have the
vaccine. As time flies by the age limit has been widen until children and teens
now have access to the vaccine. Here in the Philippines, vaccine rollouts are
still ongoing for children and teens all through the country. Back to the
questions. Are the vaccines effective? For me it has gone through clinical
trials, we do have side effects with the vaccine as the scientist warns us that
it could give us different side effects such as headache, fever, dizziness,
nausea etc. Therefore, for me vaccines can really be effective nowadays. Are we
sure that the vaccines can protect us from the virus? The vaccine itself cannot
prevent us from getting the virus but rather protect us from the life
threatening symptoms that you can get if you are infected.
In order for us to be safe during
this pandemic, we must always follow the protocols given by our government. It
is a right for everyone to choose whether to get the vaccine or not, but as the
pandemic continues many establishments prefer vaccinated people only to enter
the premises. Immunity over the virus can be achievable with the help of
vaccines and us fellow citizens working together.
