The Passion of a Father

 


Father’s day, a wondrous day to celebrate and have fun with my family. We also celebrate and thank all the sacrifices our father made for us to be here in this world. The entirety of our life, the love and warmth of fathers is the best thing we can see and feel from them, and this day we take the time to celebrate and extend our gratitude to our fathers. They are the backbone or foundation of who we are today. They have helped us grow and be mature, teach us life lessons, and making sure that we live in a comfortable life.

            The first father’s day was celebrated on June 19, 1910 in the state of Washington in the Unites States. However father’s day wasn’t really much of a big deal during that time. On July 5, 1908 a West Virginia church sponsored the nation’s first event to honor the day. Not until next year, in Spokane, Washington a woman named Sonora Smart Dodd, a child raised by a single father. She tried to establish the same equivalent support towards to father’s day. She was successful and the state celebrated it. She is now dubbed as the founder of father’s day. The significance of father’s day is to celebrate and bring up the acknowledgment to our fathers who have supported us up until this day. It is also one way out of the many for us to express our deepest gratitude and thank you to our fathers whether emotionally, mentally or physically.

            On June 19, 2022, we must reminisce and thank our fathers on their way to give us a happy and comfortable life. Valuing father’s day just like mother’s day means a lot for our society. Fathers can also receive gifts, flowers, and love just like mothers. We should always be mindful of all what has been with us until this date. We should always treat our father with respect, love, and care. No obstacle could block us in celebrating this day.

The Modern Me

  We start our year with a bang. Fireworks are blasting in our skies, people are cheering “Happy New Year” some are jumping, and some are praying to give us a beautiful year. As January 1 passes by we can see a lot of post in social media with the captions “New Year, New Me”, “Changing this New Year”, and “Entering the year, with a new me”. As we grow older, we change. Just like our environment, it also changes. As time passes by our environment slowly degrades, we can see this before the pandemic. Before the pandemic people are littering, burning plastics, not following the proper waste segregation, and many more. As we went on lockdown, we have to stay in our homes, which resulted in the healing of our earth. Due to the lockdown we experiences some news that our earth is slowly going back to its original form, and being clean and green again.
